• Guarded by the Great Sphinx, the Pyramid of Chephren stands literally and figuratively in the shadow of the Great Pyramid. 
  
• The Pyramid of Chephren seems to be taller than that of Cheops, but is in fact 10 ft shorter.
  
• The Cheops or "Great" Pyramid was originally completely covered in blindingly white lime-stone cladding. Most of the stone panels were broken off in 1168 to be used as building material.
