Located deep in the Taurus mountains in southeast Turkey, the conical peak of Nemrud Dag is visible over a great distance. The Plateau surrounding the peak is the site of long hidden treasures of ancient art and architecture.

❤️Commagene: In the 9th and 8th, centuries BCE, Commagene, also known as Kummuch, was an independent principality. After 708 BCE it was an Assyrian province, and later a part of the Hellenistic territory of East Armenia. Antiochus I (69-36 BCE) was its greatest king. After the death of Antiochus III in 17 CE, Commagene was absorbed into the Roman Empire.
