• ​Founded by the Khmer sometime before the mid-fourteen century, the city of Ayutthaya was known as the "Sacred City Of the Angels and Kings" after King Ramathibodi I made Ayutthaya his royal capital. 
• The ritual center of the city was the temple of Wat Mahathat. The temple of Wat Phra St. Sanphet in Ayutthaya is one of the city's most beautiful sacred buildings.

❤️1350-King Ramathibodi I founded the city as his royal residence and administrative capital.
