• With over 2,000 preserved brick temples and pagodas, the historic royal city of Bagan in Myanmar is one of the most important and impressive archaeological sites in all of southeast Asia.
• The Dhamm-yan-gyi-Pahto, built in the 12th century, is the largest temple in Bagan. ​

• ​The Shwezigon Pagoda, making the northern boundary of the city, is probably the most famous of all of Bagan's temples. The Ananda Temple was completely restored after suffering severe damage in a 1975 earthquake.
